And we mean quality:
We use the safest, most advanced generation of pressure relieving memory foam from the scientists at BASF. It makes every other type of mattress-- memory foam or otherwise-- obsolete. Our mattresses are proudly manufactured in Mount Airy, North Carolina of all-American ingredients, and every mattress we make provides a perfect blend of density, that both the memory foam and the supporting High Resiliency base foam are created from a very high-quality BASF formulation that is fully guaranteed to last. All covers meet the new Federal Standard 16 C.F.R. Part 1633, effective July 1, 2007.
Pluracol® Polyols
Pluracel Vx™ foam made from Pluracol® materials,
is slab formulation technology that produces variable recovery rate urethane
flexible foam. This material is designed to reduce pressure and cradle the body
to provide superior comfort qualities. Pluracel Vx™ foam can be
easily varied to provide property and "feel" characteristics to meet a wide
range of applications. Foam buns cure quickly and do not need crushing.
Pluracel Vx™ foam
helps make more comfortable, more luxurious cushioning.
BASF utilizes Dynamic Mechanical Analysis to target the properties and features
of Pluracel Vx™ foam. With this tool, Pluracel Vx™ foam formulations
can be adjusted to move the glass transition temperature, and target a specific temperature range for visco-elasticity.
Also, we analyze the height and breadth of the curve as a
means of targeting recovery rates and pressure relief qualities. Pluracel Vx™ foam represents
state-of-the-art slow recovery foam technology targeted at the luxury bedding and specialty cushioning segments.
BASF helps make the processing easier and helps correctly target properties in the manufacture of visco-elastic foams.

High Resiliency Support Foam
The foam under the memory foam is just as important as the memory foam itself.
Once you have sunk down into the memory foam and it has conformed to your body,
you need good base foam to catch your bones. We use "high resilience" base
foam that is similar to the foam in a car seat. It is durable yet comfortable and
supportive.
A lot of memory foam mattress companies cut corners and use low quality base
foam to increase their profit. Many of the low price mattresses you see on the market
have inferior quality base foam under the memory foam.
SleepDog mattresses use only High Resiliency (HR) base foam with a 2.8 density and a 45 ILD. In this industry, most manufacturers will consider our base foam
"overkill" in the quality department. We decided to pay more and charge less for
a mattress that we know will last and provide superior support for your body.
Why do we do it? Because we believe that everyone deserves to have this mattress
and get a great sleep at an affordable price.
CoolMAX® Cover
Our truck mattresses feature our CoolMax® Cover. CoolMax® regulates the body's
perspiration during sleep. Moisture control tests have shown that CoolMax® dries considerably faster
than other absorbent fabrics. CoolMax® fabric is not treated with chemicals and its moisture regulating
properties remain intact even after many washes. This is the highest-quality mattress at the lowest price in
America.
The CoolMAX® cover has a fire safe cover built into the cover itself. We do this to protect you and your loved ones and to comply with the new federal open-flame mattress standard, 16 CFR 1633. We recommend that customers consider adding our optional waterproof cover to their order. Moisture is an enemy of memory foam. If you have pets, small children or a loved one who may experience occasional incontinence, our waterproof cover will protect your investment and insure
years of enjoyment from your mattress.
CertiPUR-US is like having a health check-up for foam. The foam is examined and put through
a series of scientific tests -- to be sure it meets the strict voluntary standards of the CertiPUR-US program.
The tests evaluate foam content and important durability factors. Only foam products that have been tested and
approved are certified by CertiPUR-US.
