A Bigger Focus on the Environment
As climate change and other environmental issues stay prevalent, mattress recycling, upcycling, and donating have gained popularity. Truck and RV mattress recycling has become an optimal choice for those whose current mattresses have reached the end of their lifetimes. Through programs such as Bye-Bye Mattress (currently only available in California, Connecticut, and Rhode Island through the Mattress Recycling Council), Earth 911, and Load Up, you can safely dispose of your mattress in a way that is both good for humans and the planet.
In addition, mattresses and bedding made with sustainable or recycled materials have become equally popular. Many mattress manufacturers have made the shift to using more sustainable materials, SleepDog® having done so for many years, which remains a crucial way for us to do our part in combating the climate crisis.
Fuel Efficiency and Electric Trucks & RVs
You may have noticed more electric semi-truck and RV options pop up this year, and that’s because many manufacturers are looking at expanding their catalog to offer electric vehicles. This year, Mack introduced the LR Electric, and in the RV world, Winnebago’s All-Electric eRV2 is in its prototype pilot program.
While not every truck and RV company has yet achieved a fully electric vehicle, many have improved fuel efficiency. In particular, some of the biggest truck manufacturers, including Mack, Freightliner, International, and Peterbilt, have produced more fuel-efficient semi-trucks throughout 2023. In addition, they have upgraded their trucks with more ergonomic interiors to help truckers achieve ultimate comfort and safety on the road.
