Whether you're cruising along the highways or taking in the scenic beauty, these rest areas ensure your comfort and convenience.

Wisconsin has 28 rest areas throughout the state; amenities include:

  • Picnic areas
  • Road maps and other traveler information
  • Weather information at most locations
  • Places to walk your pet
  • Snacks and drinks from the vending services at most locations
  • Recycling areas
  • Wisconsin Historical Marker plaques commemorating historical facts and events

Wisconsin installed Truck Parking Information Management Systems (TPIMS) along all interstate highways as an effort to create real-time updates about the availability of truck parking at rest areas. Currently, 12 out of the 28 rest areas utilize this technology.

Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive

RVers will love the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive. There’s campgrounds up and down the 115 mile drive where you can hike, fish, bike, and more. Don’t forget to stop at the historical sights along the way. You can witness geological landmarks left from the glacial age or step into the past at Old World Wisconsin, an outdoor museum that explores early American life in the midwest.

Pilot Travel Center – Oak Creek

In Oak Creek, the Pilot Travel Center is a popular choice among truckers. Open 24 hours a day, Pilot Travel Center has everything a trucker needs. For $17/night, you can rest easy with prime parking. Oak Creek offers restrooms, 9 showers, 11 fuel lanes, a game room, premium wifi, public laundry, and more.

Visit Pilot Travel Center when you’re traveling I-94. The Oak Creek center is located off exit 322.

Before setting out on your Wisconsin adventure, plan your rest stops in advance. Verify their availability and any specific rules to ensure a smooth journey. Having alternate rest areas in mind is advisable in case your preferred stop is temporarily unavailable.
