Although most mattresses for semi-truck sleeper bunks measure around 80-inches long and 40-inches wide, there are a large number of semi-truck models with different mattress specifications which makes buying the correct mattress size surprisingly complicated. There are also many different retailers where you can buy a mattress for a tractor trailer sleeper, making it even easier to forget or harder to find the mattress specifications you need for your truck.

Another important factor to consider when buying a mattress for your truck is the potential for team driving. Since stricter federal guidelines for electronic logging were passed in 2018, team driving has been on the rise. Logistics companies and truck drivers have turned to team driving as a way to maintain delivery schedules and to keep their costs down. On long routes, it is common for one driver to sleep while the other drives, making a comfortable, well-fitted mattress a must have. This means that team drivers may have the additional challenge of finding the right size mattress for a top and bottom bunk configuration.

Volvo VNL 860

Kenworth T680

The Kenworth T680 is an extremely popular sleeper model semi-truck. The T680 is touted as one of the most fuel-efficient trucks that also comes equipped with high level of luxury and comfort. The sleeper options for this model range from a 40-inch bunk up to a 76-inch high roof condo sleeper. While the 76-inch configuration is the most spacious, each configuration comes with a comfortable amount of space. For the T680, an 80-inch by 36-inch mattress, an 80-inch by 38-inch, or even an 80-inch by 32-inch bunk mattress may be suitable for your configuration.

Peterbilt 579

The Peterbilt 579 has all of the features you might expect in a well-rated sleeper and is designed as a generously sized cabin for maximum productivity and comfort. The 579 comes in many spacious and ergonomic configurations, such as 44-inch, 72-inch, or 80-inch detachable sleepers. The bunk in the 579 can hold up to an 82-inch mattress and offers a useful swiveling mount designed to hold a flat screen TV. The sleeper also comes packed with plenty of overhead storage. The Peterbilt sleeper semi-truck unit is available in a number of sizes with various storage, shelving, and bunk options. The best mattress sizes for the Peterbilt 579 generally measure 80-inches long by 42-inches wide or 80-inches long by 36-inches wide.

Freightliner Cascadia®

One of the most popular sleeper semi-truck tractor units in recent years, the Freightliner Cascadia®The Cascadia sleeper cabins generally need a 80-inch by 36-inch mattress, 80-inch by 39-inch mattress, or 80-inch by 42-inch mattress depending on your semi truck configuration. The interior of the Cascadia® was designed with driver relaxation and downtime in mind. Mack Pinnacle
